Congratulations! RVS

Let me start by congratulating the lovely and talented couple, Robert and Vivi. Vivi is a talented singer and Robert is very good with musical instruments.

For it's our faith that guides our lives
With a measure of God's grace
For this is what keeps love strong
Through whatever we may face

This was back in June and it happened in a small town of Tamparuli. As with my post for Ester's Big Day, my apologies to Vivi for the late entry.

Today is the beginning of a journey the two of you now share
The vow to love, honour, and cherish now seen in the rings you wear
And so my wish to you both is that when you wake each day
You will turn to each other with the same look you share today

The Green Connection

Let's head to The Green Connection for a family outing.

Welcome to The Green Connection!

It is a 10-minute drive from KK city and is located within Badan Sukarelawan Complex, KM2, Jalan Tuaran, Likas Sabah. If you are driving from Kota Kinabalu, you would have passed through Razz Ma Tazz clubhouse, SLDB office and finally a temple on your left hand side prior to the intended left-turn to The Green Connection.

It is open daily from 10.00am - 6.00pm and last entry is at 4.30pm

My wife always say that I'm good with sketching direction map but I am not going to sketch one this time. Uncle Google will. Just a little bit of touches here and there and we are good to go:
Map to GConnection
Finding it is very easy

Show me the money:
Ticket price for adult : RM 25.00
Child : RM 15.00 children between 2 yrs and 16 yrs old. It's free passage for babies.

Err...these vases don't grow flower one!

About half of the fun is outdoors but no worries, the compound is amply vegetated and your tour would mostly be under the shade of the trees. If you are unlucky and it rains, you have to just stay indoors but there are still plenty of things you can do.

Get a hand at the starfish if you'd like to. Just don't take them out of the water please..

Hensem kah saya?

The main attraction is this centre is the big aquarium inhabited by many aquatic species. Some notable ones being the stingrays, sharks and turtles.

Shoot them as you like & take all the time you need

Guided tour:
As part of the education program, the centre provide a short on-the-job briefing prior and during the show. Fish feeding time (I call it showtime) is at 11.30am & 4.00pm on Monday to Friday. On Public Holidays, Saturdays and Sundays there is additional show at 1.30pm.

Should I listen to her? or watch the diver feeding the fishes?

Less activity outdoors for us as it was drizzling that day. There are snakes and other reptiles as well but that'd be for the next visit during drier days.

"Mana sudah mama kita nih aah?"

"Ahoyyy pirate!"
...fares you goodbye as you approach the exit.

Happy Holidays! and spend sometime with your loved ones this weekend.

Nightshots at Perdana Park

Perdana Park SignName800
Welcome to Tanjung Aru!

Perdana Park is located in Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu Sabah and is a relatively new recreational park equipped with rubberised jogging track, fitness equipment for stretching your eager body, playground for the kids, lounge for light drink, and of course musical fountain. For this entry I will share a bit of the night view a.k.a melodious water fountain.

The park in brief:

Location: Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu
Official opening/Officiated by: Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak, 28 January 2011
Opened to public: 30 January 2011
Developed by: Timatch Sdn Bhd
Cost: RM50mil or thereabout

Don't be late for the kick off. The first few refreshing songs are accompanied by more energetic fountain displays.

Snap shot of the first set of the performance at relatively higher shutter speed of 1/80sec and ISO 3200, hand-held.

Sit back and relax, enjoy the 10-minute performance; like them.

It's crowded but that's part of the fun.

Some of the many colours of the water:

6-second exposure and you get nice smooth capture

13 seconds increases your chances of 'catching' multiple fountain colours.

If early evening does not suit you, 8.30pm maybe be just nice for you. Musical fountain display is a daily affair and there are four sets of 10-minute per set performance from between 7.00pm to 8.40pm.

Jog, relax, and enjoy. Be there or be square!
