That's probably what Petronas is trying to get across when it built several solar-powered street lights withing the compound of its Kota Kinabalu HQ building.

It can be nice and has the potential as decorative poles
It is interesting to find out how much is each set of pole but even more interesting is if Petronas is willing to invest on setting up a solar farm somewhere in the interior of Sabah. That would then be in contrast to what they are good at - finding hydrocarbon a.k.a black gold.
