Enjoying sunset at Tanjung Aru First Beach, Kota Kinabalu

Tanjung Aru 1st beach is always swarmed by revelers on weekends. If you enjoy the company of the crowd then come on Saturdays or Sundays. Otherwise go on weekdays and you will have the beach all to yourself. No I was kidding! The 1st beach is crowded almost everyday from 5.00pm onwards.

The atmosphere is great and everyone minds their own business in a nice way.

The following was shot recently during a weekend.

Welcome to Tanjung Aru beach, Kota Kinabalu's pride

While waiting for the sun to set, why not give yourself some workout and try the Zumba

or just sit back and watch them

 Football by the beach

During good weather, you'll be able to see the 'fireball' disappear into the horizon

Get some interesting perspective and go really low, yah!

Long after the sun set, you can still enjoy the blue hour

Come visit Tanjung Aru when you drop by Kota Kinabalu. It's just 10 to 15 minutes drive from the city centre.

Supertree Grove at the Gardens by the Bay

Just to give you an idea of how the SupertreesTM look like at daytime. I have posted a nightview of the big 'trees' in my previous posting here.

Give it a go when you are at the vicinity of these giants.

There are a total of 18 Supertrees, all located within Bay South at Gardens by the Bay, with 12 of them situated in the Supertree Grove while 6 are placed in clusters of thees near the Arrival Square and Dragonfly Lake. The skywalk connecting the trees is 128m long.

Spectacular night view of the Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay

Located within Garden by the Bay, the Supertree Grove houses unique trees of up to 16 storeys in height. There are 11 Supertrees embedded with sustainable functions and cycles in energy and water throughout the garden.

This is a night view of the Supertrees from the balcony of Marina Bay Sands hotel. You can see the daytime views here at Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay.

The two conservatories: the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome

The Supertrees

The Supertrees are decorated with computer-controlled varying lights:-

It's during the night photo-shoot that I found out the hotel towers were moving (or rather swaying) as I got short light trails in several of my long exposure shots.

So, it may not be a good idea to shot during windy nights.
